Associated directly with Task Force Price and Yuri, the Delta Forces reach the bottom of the mine where they evacuate the father and daughter Vorshevsky. But cornered and no longer having any leeway for the evacuation, Sandman sacrifices himself with his men, Truck and Grinch to allow Price and Yuri to escape safely. The mine explodes and Sandman gives no more signs of life.
Sandman appears as the equivalent of Price, professional, endowed with a great experience and a reactivity largely compensating for the vagaries of the missions. And he is devoid of any sense of revenge, being just a simple soldier in the service of his homeland, not discussing any order and doing the job.
His sense of sacrifice is as heightened as his determination to achieve his goals. Introduced in the last opus of the Modern Warfare trilogy, Sandman is one, like Gaz or Foley, of those endearing and professional characters who guide the player, and whose absences leave a taste of unfinished business.
Just as competent as his colleagues in the Metal team, he is quite discreet, showing an unfailing calm in combat. His profile is quite close to that of Griggs or Foley, calming the ardor and often packing up his teammate Grinch, closer to the profiles of Gaz or Dunn. Truck is one of 3 Delta Forces left at the bottom of the mine in Siberia, covering the ascent of the helicopter carrying Price, Yuri and Boris Vorshevsky.
